I've said before that the Las Vegas Zoo is a sad, sad, place.
Little did we know that there's a pretty great petting zoo out in Moapa, though flailing, probably because it's all the way out in Moapa. Enter Zappo's, who brought the whole of the Moapa Roos 'n' More Zoo to Las Vegas, to raise awareness and, more importantly, raise the $250, 000 that'll keep the place running for years to come.
Charlotte's favorite thing was the pot bellied piglet, which was so adorable. It was constantly nuzzling her leg and sniffing her so now, if you ask Charlotte what a pig says, instead of saying 'Oink oink' she scrunches up her nose and buries her face in your side.
Charlotte was determined to ride this giant tortoise like it was a horse but she kept getting thwarted by one of the zoo keepers, who would always catch her just at the moment she straddled it
Excited to see a real life camel:
The highlight and, of course, the exhibit with the longest queue was the one housing a Joey, although Charlotte continues to insist that it's not a Joey, it's a baby kangaroo. Whatever it's name, it was adorable and the softest thing we'd ever touched.
The animals have all long since returned to Moapa leaving the Vegas Zoo looking sadder than ever, now that we have this to compare it to!
