MOVING ON UP

Ryan wasn't the only one who was celebrating scholastic achievements this Spring. Charlotte started Preschool (or, as she called, it 'Y School) in the January after she turned 3, going two mornings a week for 3 hours. Even on her first day she was eager to get on with it; she barely noticed me as she ran into the classroom to see what all of the other kids were up to. From that day forward 'Y School' was her favorite time of the week. And, since I could get my weekly chores done in the few hours she was there, it didn't take me long to realize that it wasn't the worst thing in the world.

They held a cute graduation ceremony at the end of the semester, the kids showing their parents some of the things they'd been learning- like the Pledge of Allegiance, which was a surprise to me!

The kids who were moving on to Kindergarten were asked to wear Red, while the younger ones wore blue. Months later and Charlotte still asks to wear her 'graduation shirt', and tells people she's 'wearing her graduation shirt' so needless to say she felt pretty special that morning!

Happy Girl:

Although the highlight for her had to be the superhero cupcakes served once all of the certificates were handed out, complete with Spiderman rings. Frosting and anything Marvel related = this girls happy place.

She got to pick the place for lunch to celebrate and simply asked for 'corn', which meant BBQ and her Daddy's happy place.

What next?

Following in her fathers footsteps, perhaps?
