CHICKENS, PUMPKINS, AND A MAGIC SCHOOL BUS

Charlotte dealt really well with the move, but the one thing she immediately missed was pre-school. Thankfully it didn't take long to find one close by, and within just a few weeks of moving to our new home she was back to her usual schedule of 2 mornings a week. Even better than that, she got to go on her first field trip.

Raring to go:

We went for a tour of a local farm but, as far as Charlotte was concerned, the only part that mattered was getting to ride on a big yellow school bus. I didn't mind what we did, I was just glad I was mobile enough to go; it was so fun to see her interacting with the other kids.

We went on a treasure hunt through the corn maze, under strict instructions from the farmers wife that there was a strict no running policy. Now, months later if you ask Charlotte what she remembers about her field trip she'll tell you, 'That girl wouldn't let me run, but I just really wanted to run.' Grumpy face.

We got a lesson in caring for chickens and a hay ride from the Farmer. Unfortunately, since our last trip involving hay and animals ended in hives and eyes swollen shut, Charlotte had to be the poor kid wearing gloves to pet the chickens.

One last treat was picking out her very own pumpkin, which she displayed proudly in her bedroom for at least a month. It was her, after all.
